Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rubik Mosaic Generator, a free browser-based tool published at trend2print.com ("the Service"). Please read them carefully. They are written in plain language on purpose — we would rather you actually understood the rules than clicked through a wall of legalese.
Acceptance
By using Rubik Mosaic Generator you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
By loading the Service — whether that's the generator page, the guide, the gallery, the buying guide, or any subpage — you confirm you are at least 13 years old (or old enough to consent to online services in your country, whichever is greater) and that you accept these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, school, or maker space, you also confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Use of the service
The tool is provided free of charge for personal and educational use. You are responsible for the images you upload and for ensuring you have the rights to use them. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or offensive.
Permitted uses
- Generating mosaic patterns from photos you own or have licence to use.
- Building physical Rubik's Cube mosaics from those patterns for personal, educational, classroom, non-profit, or commercial display.
- Sharing screenshots or exported PDFs of your generated patterns online, with attribution to Rubik Mosaic Generator appreciated but not required.
- Using the tool as part of a paid workshop, class, or maker-space session — no commercial licence is required.
Prohibited uses
- Uploading images you do not have the right to reproduce. Copyrighted photographs, celebrity portraits, and licensed characters (Disney, Marvel, sports team logos, etc.) are your responsibility, not ours.
- Uploading images that depict illegal content, non-consensual intimate imagery, child sexual abuse material, or content intended to harass a specific person.
- Automated or scripted use that attempts to overload the Service or scrape its output at volume. Because processing runs in your browser this is largely self-limiting, but bulk-processing rigs are still prohibited.
- Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source of any minified bundle beyond what is permitted by law in your jurisdiction.
- Removing, obscuring, or falsifying any copyright notice, credit, or attribution on the site or in exported files.
- Framing the Service inside another website in a way that misrepresents its origin or removes our navigation.
Intellectual property
The site's design, code, and generated PDFs are © Rubik Mosaic Generator. Mosaic outputs you generate from your own images belong to you — you keep all rights to your inputs and derived outputs. "Rubik's Cube" is a trademark of its respective owner; this project is unaffiliated with and not endorsed by Rubik's Brand Ltd.
Your content
You retain all right, title, and interest in the images you upload and in the mosaic patterns derived from them. Because uploaded images never leave your browser, we have no ability to reproduce, redistribute, or licence them. You do not grant us any licence to your content by using the Service.
Our content
The Service's source code, editorial content (the guide, the buying guide, the FAQ, the about page, and this Terms document itself), UI design, exported-PDF layout, and the Rubik Mosaic Generator name and wordmark are protected by copyright and, where applicable, trademark law. You may quote short excerpts of our editorial content for review or educational purposes with attribution; you may not republish substantial portions without written permission.
Third-party marks
"Rubik's Cube" and "Rubik's" are trademarks of Rubik's Brand Ltd. Cube manufacturer names mentioned in our buying guide — MoYu, QiYi, YJ, Cubicle, Z-Stickers, and others — are trademarks of their respective owners. We mention them descriptively (nominative fair use); no endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship is claimed or implied.
Advertising
The Service is monetised by contextual advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads shown on the Service are selected by Google, not by us. We do not endorse advertised products, we cannot honour promotions offered in third-party ads, and we are not responsible for the practices of advertisers whose products or landing pages you interact with after clicking an ad. Complaints about specific ads should go to Google via the info icon that appears in the corner of every AdSense placement.
User conduct
You agree not to use the Service to (a) violate any law or third-party right; (b) attempt to disrupt or exploit the Service's infrastructure; (c) impersonate another person; (d) collect information about other visitors; or (e) transmit malware, phishing links, or content designed to deceive. We reserve the right to block IP ranges or ban specific browsers from the Service if we detect repeated attempts to abuse it, even though such enforcement is limited given the client-side nature of the tool.
Availability and modifications
We do our best to keep the Service online 24/7, but we make no uptime commitments. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to hosting maintenance, DNS propagation, browser incompatibility, or acts of a CDN we cannot control. We may also change, add, or remove features at any time — including the introduction of new export formats, changes to the default palette, or the retirement of features that are no longer maintained. Where a change materially reduces the Service's usefulness (for example, removing an export format), we will announce it on the homepage at least 30 days in advance where practical.
Fees and pricing changes
The Service is currently free of charge. If we introduce paid features in the future, existing free features that this Terms document describes will remain free — we will not paywall the generator, exports, guide, gallery, or buying guide. Any new premium features would be clearly labelled and require a separate opt-in.
Third-party links
The Service links to third-party websites, including cube retailers, speedcubing communities, and reference material. We do not endorse or control those sites, we do not receive affiliate commissions unless explicitly disclosed on the linking page, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.
DMCA and copyright complaints
If you believe editorial content on our own pages (guide, gallery, buying guide, FAQ, about, blog) infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@trend2print.com with the subject line [dmca]. Include: (1) a description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed, (2) the URL on our site where the alleged infringement appears, (3) your contact details, (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised, and (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder or their agent. We respond to valid notices within 10 business days. Because we do not host user-uploaded images, DMCA notices about mosaic outputs generated by end users are not applicable to us — those outputs exist only on the end user's device.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy of solve instructions, or fitness for a particular purpose.
In particular, the generator's solve sequences are calculated by a depth-limited search that occasionally returns longer-than-optimal sequences. This is a known trade-off in favour of interactive performance; it does not affect the visual output but it may mean the physical build takes marginally longer than a hand-optimised approach would. We do not warrant that any specific mosaic will be buildable at any specific size with any specific cube model — those variables are controlled by your hardware, not by us.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
Without limiting the generality of the preceding sentence: we are not liable for (a) money spent on cubes, stickers, framing materials, or shipping in reliance on the tool's output; (b) time spent building a mosaic that you are subsequently dissatisfied with; (c) copyright or trademark claims arising from your choice of source image; (d) any cube-related injury (yes, we've been asked); or (e) any consequential, incidental, special, punitive, or exemplary damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim — which, at current pricing, is zero.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damages, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right — most commonly a copyright or trademark right in the images you choose to feed into the generator.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Trend2Print's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Before starting any formal dispute, please email us at hello@trend2print.com — the vast majority of disagreements about a free browser tool can be resolved with a short email exchange. Where informal resolution fails, the courts of our principal jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
Severability, waiver, and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Service and supersede any prior communications on the same subject.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where the change expands your obligations, will be announced on the homepage for at least seven days. Continued use of the Service after a material change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you disagree, the appropriate remedy is to stop using the Service.
